It's (Oscar) party time...

Josh joined over 650 attendees at the 17th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party. Other guest included Victoria Beckham, Sir Ben Kingsley, Gerard Butler, Ben Stiller, Sharon Stone, Eva Longoria Parker, Kate Beckinsale, Carrie Underwood, Natasha Bedingfield, Chace Crawford, Elle Macpherson, Gordon Ramsey, Chris O'Donnell, Chris Noth and Taye Diggs.

And just look who's table he was seated at... Can't get any better than than sitting right next to the host of the evening.

USA today reported the following...

Another music veteran, Josh Groban, was equally impressed with the show — and party.

"What I love about this party is Elton does a great job of combining a party with doing something worthwhile," Groban says. "It's not just a party atmosphere."

Groban says he also has come to respect the Academy Awards.

"It's not like the Grammys, where they have something like 140 awards and you walk away with a hundred of them," he says. "There's one best actor, one best picture. It really means something."

Yet again Josh puts the whole Grammy thing into perspective!

Webchat video update...

I was beginning to wonder what had happened to the video of the live chat...

Well, my question has been answered and as much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news, the following has been posted on FoJG:

Due to technical issues, we discovered that the files from Josh's Ustream Chat were corrupted during the recording process. We attempted to salvage them, but unfortunately nothing can be done. As a result, we will not be able to post the video version of the webcast. Josh had a lot of fun chatting with you and hopes to schedule another Ustream chat soon. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and will make sure to resolve the technical issues for the next webcast.

This is sad news for everyone who missed it due to lack of notice, not being a paid up member of FoJG or had issues with their internet connection like me.

Hopefully a new chat will happen soon and they'll have all the technical issues sorted out.

This YTube video appears to have the only footage of the chat so here it is...

The Grammy's...

I'm not really sure what to say...

Obviously I'm bitterly disappointed that Josh didn't win his category of BEST TRADITIONAL POP VOCAL ALBUM for "Noël" (instead it went to "Still Unforgettable" by Natalie Cole)... But we know that Josh has said many times that he isn't in this business for the awards and accolades. That said, it would've been nice to hear him introduced as "Grammy award winning artist... Josh Groban!!!

But as a dear friend of mine reminded me, this is the same organization that awarded the Best New Artist Grammy to Milli Vanilli in 1990 (and yes, I know it was revoked after it was revealed that the actual vocals on the record were not their voices, but they still gave it to them in the first place)... LOL

And as the saying goes, there's always next year... There's no doubt that the fans will be there to support Josh 100%. After all, without the fans "Noël" wouldn't have been the biggest selling album for 2007 !

But in other news Ric Rubin who's producing Josh's next album picked up the Grammy for PRODUCER OF THE YEAR, NON-CLASSICAL...
