Find Your Light...

After months of speculation surrounding the changes to Josh's charitable foundation, details of the new "Find Your Light" foundation have been released. Given Josh's ongoing support of Arts Education it's no surprise that this is the core focus of the foundation.

This is what Josh has to say about "Find Your Light"...
Throughout my life and career, giving back has been a constant and a joy for me. My family instilled this in me as a kid and my fans have continued to nourish that love as I’ve ventured into the blessed existence that has been my short career. Together with the generous contributors inside and outside of my fan base, we have built a war chest that has the potential to do wonderful things in the world.

For the last 7 years, the Josh Groban Foundation has been a come-what-may umbrella organization to help children in the many broken systems around the world. These have involved healthcare, food and shelter, education, and relief donations for tragedies that would occur without warning.

While this has been a wonderful project for me, the broad reach with which our arms have needed to be extended to fulfill these numerous causes have not always been in sync with our means. I feel that now is the time to focus our funds, our vision, and my personal passions into a bigger bullet. That’s not to say that my personal energy (and yours as well, hopefully) can’t still be involved heavily in helping other charities that take care of these many challenges, but the time has come for me to focus my charity into a world that I feel most connected to, and can best help.

It is with this sentiment and with great excitement that I announce that the Josh Groban Foundation is now the Find Your Light Foundation. This foundation will help to enrich the lives of young people through arts, education, and cultural awareness.

The combination of my personal experience and belief that the arts in children’s and young adult’s lives help shape and change them for the better, and the sobering reality that these are the exact programs that are being cut from our schools and society at a drastic rate, make me more attuned than ever to the need for this focus.

It is my hope that Find Your Light will cover a wide array of possibilities, from providing instruments and funding for arts programs in schools, to introducing people to the arts and culture around them and even around the world through the use of technology.

I have seen these opportunities change lives. It is my honor and privilege to be able to give back in this way and expand with all of your help. I look forward to the journey ahead and thank you in advance for helping give countless students the chance to find their light.

Thank you,

Josh

  1. Just viewed Josh on Pierce Morgan and he is the most humble person out there. I like what he has done for this foundation.
